Step into the maze. Disorient yourself. Find the right paths. Or don’t. ‘Ariadne’s Maze’ offers a complex way, standing out of three curatorial positions from different geographies, Ariadne's Maze group exhibition at the traditional room ‘Chamelo’ in cantina Covadonga propose a global interconnected artist-curator gathering from Quito via Rudimento, Berlin via Erratum and N/A/S/L as a host in Mexico City.

The group exhibition presents 23 positions, including artworks on diverse media such as videos, paintings, sculptures, photo, installation, drawing, print, etc. Including artists based in Tokyo, Paris, Mexico City, Los Angeles, Berlin, Quito, New York, among others. Hosted at Cantina Covadonga, a venue that operates as both artifact and stage in the urban memory of CDMX, this collaboration between three galleries opens up a space where art is neither local nor global but fragmented, constructed, and constantly in flux.

“Once we rejected the infinity of the spirit, it seems improbable to substitute it with a theology of production or desire. [...] Today we are living not in a society of similarity, but rather in a society of difference. And the society of difference is not a politeia but a market economy. If I live in a society in which everyone is specialized, and has his or her specific cultural identity, then I offer to others what I have and can do— and receive from them what they have or can do. These networks of exchange also function as networks of communication, as a rhizome. Freedom of communication is only a special case for the free market.”
