In this collaborative project, artists Yu Lu and Tin Wang explore the concept of the social skin—a second, virtual layer of identity shaped by shifting social forms, digital personas, and collective behavior. Situated at the intersection of the personal and the performative, their work delves into how we inhabit and navigate morphological social spaces, where identity is constantly constructed, coded, and consumed.
Using food as both material and metaphor, the artists reflect on internal contradictions, emotional digestion, and the uneasy nourishment of social interaction. Here, edible forms become expressions of intimacy, conflict, ritual, and transformation—highlighting the ways we swallow, absorb, and perform the expectations placed upon us.
Through gesture, texture, and taste, this exhibition becomes a sensory narrative of assimilation and resistance, of public masks and private cravings.
